Professor Travis Dickinson

Travis Dickinson is convinced that pursuing truth and thinking well can be an act of worship as individuals love God with their minds. He is currently the Professor of Philosophy at Dallas Baptist University, where he teaches a wide range of philosophical subjects. His scholarly research interests focus on epistemology and philosophy of religion, along with other related areas. He is the author of *Wandering Toward God: Finding Faith amid Doubts and Big Questions* (forthcoming October 2022), *Logic and the Way of Jesus*, and *Everyday Apologetics*, and is also the coauthor of *Stand Firm: Apologetics and the Brilliance of the Gospel*. Travis regularly contributes to the *Christian Research Journal* and has the privilege of speaking at churches and conferences. While he once had various hobbies, he now spends most of his time exploring the good life with his wife and four children.

Having grown up in New Jersey, Travis decided to attend Alaska Bible College, earning a BA in Education in 1999. Finding Alaska quite cold, he thawed a little while teaching high school Bible and mathematics classes in Denver, CO, from 1999 to 2004. There being no ocean in Colorado, he began his graduate work at Biola University (MA in Christian Apologetics, 2003) in Southern California with the intent to pursue graduate work in World Religions. However, upon finding himself more captivated by the philosophical questions underlying the religious ones, he returned to Biola, this time at Talbot School of Theology, for their philosophy program (MA in Philosophy of Religion and Ethics, 2006). Not having completely solved any philosophical problems, Travis continued his pursuit of answers at the University of Iowa, earning both an MA and PhD in Philosophy in 2011. He is currently working on further answers to these questions at Dallas Baptist University.
